Throw Away Blogs - a Trial Blog

So, considering starting a blog but not sure about ????

Consider starting a Throw Away Blog.

A Throw Away Blog is a trial blog, to

  • become familiar with blogging
  • blogging software
  • and quite frankly to see if blogging is for you.

It's a zero pressure blog - not permanent and not related to your business or profession.

If I were starting a Throw Away Blog today, what would it be on? Not technology or business! Maybe fishing, or biking, or wine -- in other words a hobby or non-work interest.

The concept comes from Rick Short.

"I started with a local fundraiser blog," says Rick. "But it didn't have legs – it was an annual event and not a 12-month thing and it was boring."

Although the blog was perhaps a failure, Rick learned a lot, both about blogging and his blog software.

Consider a Throw Away Blog - a zero pressure way to experience blogging.

My problem is throwing the blog away. I have 5 blog accounts plus a group blog that I contribute to. Now one of the blogs was created only to have an account on a blogging site so that I could comment on blogs at the site that require an account. That one has no real activity. But once I start a blog I have trouble giving it up. Perhaps I have an addiction. :-)

Ted Demopoulos, Blogging for Business

You, an addiction? Absurd :)

If you've never blogged before, it might be easier. And even if you never "throw" the blog away, it takes any pressure off.

And the last thing he listened to were the breaks when we stopped. He didn't want to hear any squealing from them.
